Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
My friends and family the year is drawing to an end and I wanted to touch base and say thank you. In reflection this has been a great year. Did I make the money I wanted to make? No. Did I sell as many books as I would have liked? No. However the blessing was having books to sell. Hearing people say they like what they read. It was meeting so many people that enjoyed my conversations about my book. Overall it was knowing that I am a published author with a book that was being enjoyed that has brought me joy this year. I have made mistakes and I am OK with that. I have received negative reviews and I am fine with that. I have had some take books then have to chase them down for the money. I have attended book signings where I have for hours to only sell a book or none. Then there was those signings where I sold more than 15 books. I have had other authors come and tell me they like my work and ask to hear more about my poetry or my testimony of how my writnng came about.
So as this year comes to a close I am blessed. The Lord has smiled and I am working hard on making him proud of me. I have upcoming projects for 2009. Three anthologies and a book tour. I am working on an event here in NYC that will be a showcase of written talent and spoken word artist alike. Keep your eyes open for that. The book tour starts early, our first stop is Fayetteville and Durahm , North Carolina check the website www.authorswithapassion.com I hope to meet even more people.
I have quite a few stops and finance is going to be an issue. I am going to have to truly grind outside and inside. I am going to have to go wherever I can to sell books to be able to make enough to travel. Make sure you pass the word to those you know. Support this educator who has a story to tell. I am also working on my second book that will tell the whole story behind the man in transition. I feel its time to bear it all. I am sure you’ll love to hear my story..
