Ayani_Meli Book Review Form
*Title of book: From Gigolo to Jesus
*Author’s name: K. L. Belvin
*Publisher: Bravin Publishing, LLC
*Release date (or anticipated release): 2011
*ISBN:
ASIN (if applicable): n/a
Ebook ISBN:
Specs: reviewed via ebook
Website (optional): www.KLthewriter.com
Rating: Four Shouts!
Summary (or synopsis, 1-4 sentences for a short review):
This book is essentially KL’s multifaceted autobiography. He speaks candidly on his life, shortcomings, struggles and subsequent transformation from a woman hating lost soul to a strong, centered, compassionate man of God.
This chronicle of K.L.’s life has been and is unfortunately being played out every day with our young men. There are a myriad of reasons one may travel this path (male or female). The Body of Christ must step up and begin to educate our youth about sex, pornography and Godly relationships. He encourages, not just our youth, but anyone struggling with a sexual addiction to make that 180 degree turn and ‘walk it out.’
On a side note, it is important to understand that there is always more than one way (mindset) to read a book. When the author started speaking early on to parents, I chose to glean as much advice as possible – being a single mother to a growing man-child. I am constantly looking for ways to protect my child.
I understood and appreciate everything I’ve read. However, this one quote spoke more to me as a parent.
As parents we can’t allow anyone to slide past our defenses. Don’t allow anyone to get close enough to your son or daughter until you have armed them with the positives and negatives of their actions in relationships. Arm them with more self-worth than they can hold.
Help them to understand that they are the anchor to their soul; that God will be there to protect them even if they have to stand all by themselves. Use every ounce of the nurturing powers that God has given you. Form a hedge around your children that you are there even when they don’t see you.
I will no doubt reread parts of this book again…Thank you Bro. K.L. for such an enlightening and transparent look at your life and journey.

My Dear Friend Keith, Sorry it took so long to let you know what I thought of "From Gigolo To Jesus" It was the most heartfelt, amazing book I've ever read!! You opened your life up to your readers from the beginning until the present. Not to many people can do that, with such emotion. I...as a reader felt like I was right there with you. I cried through out the chapter about your reunion with your father!! Oh my...... the emotion you brought out, I felt your pain, I felt your father's pain. You were so fortunate to have your mother and grandmother in your life, but to finally come face to face with your father.....wow!!! I don't know what to say about Tiffany, but I know one thing, she is a very special, loving and patient lady who God surely brought to you. You needed her to be hard on you like she was, God Bless her!!! Thank you for opening up your life to all your readers, friends and family, you are an inspiration, love you my friend ?

My Brother Belvin-there are not enough words to express my gratitude for your profound message to the Black History program yesterday@Rochale Village. The profound message still reigns because it was sanction by God. In everything we do we must allow God be the head leader. The song says where He leads me I will follow. Thank you for coming again and may God continue to reign on you and (Tiffany(you were miss xoxo) with an abundance in everything. Much love....

From Gigolo to Jesus is a great testimony of God's amazing love and His abundant blessings, not to mention His forgiveness of our sins. It shows that even when we think of ourselves as unworthy of His love, He still knows our purpose. And if we're open to change and submit to God's will, He will use us as vessels. Tiff & KL are also phenomenal proof that the black family can survive; that marriage is not just a status but an evolving job; that if God is not intricately involved, there are so many things prepared to destroy it. I read the book TWICE and my eyes have been opened to mistakes I've made in past relationships, it helped me to identify some of my weaknesses I had not seen as such. So thank you KL for being honest and open and using your life as a testimony about God's work! May you both be forever blessed!

SHARON EVANGELIST
FIRST WE MUST GIVE HONOR TO GOD, FROM WHOM ALL
BLESSINGS COME FORTH. IT IS TRULY A BLESSING THAT YOU ARE NO LONGER BLINDED
KEITH. YOU ARE A FINE EXAMPLE OF TRANSITION AND YOUR PURPOSE, YOUNG MAN, IS TO
SPREAD THE WORD. I AM SO HONORED TO HAVE BEEN A PIECE IN YOUR PUZZLE, TO HAVE
KNOWN YOU FOR THE MAN YOU WERE AND THE MAN YOU ARE TODAY. I REMEMBER WHEN WE
FIRST MET, I SAID TO MY SISTER "HE REALLY THINKS HE GOT GAME, BUT I WONDER DOES
HE KNOW WHO MANUFACTURED THE GAME HE IS PLAYING?" BECAUSE I WAS ABLE TO SEE YOUR
GAME THEN, I DECIDED TO CHANGE THE WAY THE GAME WILL BE PLAYED AND SHOWED YOU
HOW TO BE A FRIEND INSTEAD OF A LOVER. I MUST SAY, YOU PLAYED ALONG VERY WELL.
OUR RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPED INTO THE PERFECT BIG BROTHER, LITTLE SISTER
RELATIONSHIP AND I CHERISH IT TO THIS DAY. THIS BOOK IS SPECIAL. IT IS SO
POWERFUL THAT IS MUST BE A TOOL TO BE USED AND SHARED AMONGST OUR YOUTH OF
TOMORROW AND FOR THE MANY LOST ONES OF TODAY. IT WILL GIVE THEM A SIMPLE
UNDERSTANDING OF SOME OF LIFE'S TOUGHEST BATTLES THEY MAY HAVE TO FIGHT AND ONE
OF THOSE BATTLES WILL BE THE BATTLE THEY WILL HAVE WITH THEIR SELVES. READING
THIS BOOK HAS REFRESHED MY FAITH IN THE MEN OF TODAY. IT MAKES ME FEEL THAT
THERE IS STILL HOPE FOR TRANSITION FOR THEM. KEITH, KEEP WRITING, KEEP TALKING,
AND KEEP PRAYING FOR A CHANGE BECAUSE OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS ARE DEPENDING ON
YOU AND YOUR WORD. I LOVE YOU AND YOU WILL FOREVER REMAIN IN PRAYER....
TO MRS. BELVIN:
YOU ARE THE KIND OF WOMAN THAT IS HIDDEN IN MANY WOMEN. IT
TAKES A WOMAN OF VALOR TO DELIVER A MAN FROM SATAN'S GRASP. I LOVE YOU FOR BEING
WHO YOU ARE. I LOVE YOU FOR BEING MY SISTER IN CHRIST AND I THANK YOU FOR NOT
GIVING UP ON KEITH WHEN YOU COULD HAVE, AND PROBABLY WANTED TO. WHEN I LOOK AT
YOU I SEE ME...I SEE A WOMAN WITH A DRIVEN PURPOSE TO MAKE RIGHT, SO MANY
WRONGS. PLEASE CONTINUE TO ALLOW YOUR LIGHT TO SHINE AS BRIGHTLY AS IT DOES.
BLESSINGS TO YOU BOTH!
TO THE READERS:
IF YOU DON'T PURCHASE THIS BOOK, AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE
TEACHINGS IN IT, YOU TRULY ARE MISSING OUT ON CLEAR, SIMPLE UNDERSTANDING. LIFE
IS NOT MEANT TO BE LIVED SO HARD AND KL BELVIN HAS LAID IT OUT IN ITS MOST
SIMPLEST OF TERMS, HOW TRANSITION CAN HAPPEN FOR ANYONE.

You want a Real, Open, Straight to the Point no
Chaser Book to Read??? Then You Definitely Need to Check out From Gigolo to
Jesus By Author KL Belvin...The Title alone spoke volumes to me personally...But
when I had the book in my hand, and began reading..I could NOT put it
down..Literally, every chance I got I had to keep reading. While reading some of
the things he shared actually brought tears to my eyes, as well made my jaw
drop. In this Book KL Truly shows you the life he Lived, and the impact that it
had on a lot of people that were in his life. After reading I had to personally
Call him..I thanked him for being so OPEN about Everything that he went through.
Its not always easy for people to share every aspect of what their life was
like..some have a tendency to want to paint the picture in a better light. But
in this book KL shared the good, the bad, the ugly and the REAL ugly..This book
is guaranteed to help others, even if you necessarily have not been through some
of the same issues, it will OPEN your Eyes and MIND to make CHANGES in your
LIFE...So do yourself a Favor and Invest in this book, and tell your friends and
loved ones about it as well!!!
Tifini L.
Your candid, and honest telling of your story is not
only a tool of deliverance for men who read this book, but for the women have
shared lives with men such as yourself. I finished the book with hope and faith
that people can in fact, really be changed by God's love and power, and that
there is nothing we have to hold on to or hide when we give our whole selves to
Hi. God Bless you.

KL your book is a eye, nose and spirit opener. It
grab me in and I felt like I was looking at a movie instead of reading a book.
Your illustrations where so real, so raw, so deep. The book was so intense, and
it stirred up feelings in me. Feelings that had been repressed. The intensity of
the book had me put it down for while...........but now I am ready to pick it
back up and finish the journey. Thank you for being so real and transparent and
sharing your journey with the world. I prayer that this book will have a great
impact on millions as it did me. Thank you and God bless you.

Wow my friend you had us all fooled. We wanted your
life your style your brain and your gift to talk anyone into doing anything. Now
the truth be told your life was not what anyone would have really wanted. I am
so proud to say that you are and all ways will be my friend. I am sorry that I
wasn't a friend to you while you were going through so very much in your life.
But thank God for sending your wife to you because she saw the real you. And
that was a blessing from God. Your book was eye opening and it made me think
about how things are not always what they seem.
Paul Rodriguez AKA Big Rod Dawg
Some people have a hard time being honest with
themselves in private, and you managed to put together an open honest story for
the whole world to read and hopefully learn from... Congrats my brother on a
great book...Keep up the good work...
Jacqueline Ottley
I thank you for this insightful look into how God has
brought about a wonderful change into your life. Keith continue to inspire
people to be better. I am grateful that you've shown that a person doesn't have
to stay in a negative place. If we allow ourselves to be humble and honest, God
can bless us in ways never perceived. You truly have been anointed and I pray
your teachings reach the masses. I know it was not easy allowing your
vulnerability to be shown and the world to be allowed in your "Closet" but I am
appreciative of your honesty. May Tiffany and you continue to be examples for
many couples who are going through their transitional periods. It is wonderful
to know that love can prevail. God bless!

From Gigolo to Jesus is Absolutely an Amazing Book, every chance that I have had, I have been recommending people to read this book.. KL went DEEP into his life and was able to openly share the transitions that he has made in Life. This book deals with circumstances that some others still deal with on a constant basis. But I guarantee if they were to get an opportunity to read this book, they would start making changes in their lives. Thanks KL for Sharing your LIFE with the World!!!!

My man Rossie.. You are a true friend and true support to me also. After talking with you and coming home, it hit me I have to do more. Talking with you while my sons watched was more than I could have created since they got to hear about their dad and understand my changes in life. So I stand and thank you. Remember my friend, the Lord has allowed us to be right where we are. Keep pushing to be the man you are and the Lord will smile on you. Anytime you need me my friend, call and I am there.. Hey guys, I don't want anyone to feel slighted by me not giving a personal shout out or thank you. You all mean so much to my wife and I. This walk I am on and life I am living wouldn't have been possible without the Love and Grace of God, who saw fit to save me from myself. I also couldn't walk this walk without knowing there are so many out there who truly understand what this turn around means. I am honored and blessed each time someone post a kind word here, buys a book or sends me a email.
This process is not only about book sales but more about getting the words out to those it can help. Please continue to support and pray for my family as I will do the same for yours.
There is no situation you can't turn around from, I am living proof. As doors open I am reminded and kept grounded by the fact this was not done alone. Please, feel free to call on me in you need someone to talk to..
Take Care and I humbly thank each and everyone who has stopped by. In Jesus name.
May God Continue to bless you all..
